Practice Areas: Civil Litigation, including Product & Professional Liability, Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith, Wrongful Death, Toxic Tort and Premises Liability, and Banking Law.

Cooper is the president of the firm. He started his practice with LPC in 1970 and he practices in all state and federal courts throughout the State of Alabama.

Cooper received his B.A. degree from the University of Mississippi in 1966 and his J.D. degree from the University of Alabama in 1970. He served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve from 1966 to 1972. He is a native of Mobile. His practice concentrates on civil litigation, including product and professional liability, insurance coverage and bad faith, wrongful death, toxic tort and premises liability.

Cooper is active in both the Mobile and State of Alabama Bar Associations, having served on numerous committees. He has also held several offices, including President of the Mobile Bar Association. He is a frequent lecturer at various CLE seminars and is the author of "Basic Legal Skills, Ethics in Advocacy and Attorney Fees." Cooper serves as a member of the United States District Court Magistrate Selection Committee of the Southern District of Alabama, 1999-present; Civil Justice Reform Act Committee, 1995-present; Federal Defender Organization Board Director, 1994-2000; The Best Lawyers in America (commercial litigation, insurance law and product liability litigation); Alabama top 50 Super Lawyers (2009); Who's Who in American Law, 1991-present; Board of Advisors Mobile Chamber of Commerce, 1995-present. He is also a member of the Downtown Mobile District Management Corporation (DMDMC) Board of Directors (President-2009) and member of the Downtown Mobile Alliance, Inc. Board of Directors (President-2009).

Cooper is also a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, Defense Research Institute, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, American Board of Trial Advocates, Trial Attorneys of America, American Judicature Society, Fellow of the Alabama Law Foundation, National Conference of Bar Presidents.

Cooper is married to Helen Tindall and has three children.

Cooper is an avid fisherman and is a member of the Nature Conservancy, Alabama Coastal Foundation and the National Parks Conservation Association.
