Sara Elizabeth Lee is going to be speaking at a CLE scheduled for May 20, 2008 in Mobile at the Radisson Admiral Semmes Hotel. The CLE, entitled "The Art of the Settlement," is sponsored by National Business Institute. The topics she will be presenting include: "How to Succeed at Settlement Conferences," "Using Mediation When Settlements Don't Work," and participation in a mock settlement negotiation.

Lyons, Pipes & Cook is pleased to announce that A. Kelly Sessoms, III and Barry W. Andrews have joined the firm as partners. Mr. Sessoms will practice in the firm's Mississippi office and Mr. Andrews will practice in the firm's Mobile office.

Practice Areas: Appellate Advocacy, Insurance Coverage Litigation.

William is a partner in the firm. He is from Alexander City, Alabama. William has practiced with LPC since graduating from law school in 1987.

William received his undergraduate degree in history from Davidson College in 1984. He received his J.D. from the University of Alabama Law School in 1987. His practice focuses on appeals in civil cases. He is listed in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for appellate practice. He has handled more than 80 appeals and petitions for extraordinary writ to the Alabama Supreme Court, Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, and United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Alabama, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.

William also handles insurance-coverage disputes. He has represented insurers in numerous coverage matters, preparing coverage opinions, prosecuting declaratory-judgment actions, defending breach-of-contract/bad-faith cases, and intervening on behalf of insurers in actions against insureds.

William is a member of the Defense Research Institute and its Appellate Advocacy Committee; the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and its Amicus Curiae Committee; the American Bar Association, its Litigation Section, and its Insurance Coverage and Appellate Practice Committees; the Mobile Bar Association and its Appellate Practice Committee; and the Alabama State Bar and its Appellate Practice Section. William is the author of articles on pro-ami settlements and postjudgment motions published in the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association Journal, the co-author of chapters on ethics and attorney's fees in a seminar publication, and has spoken at appellate seminars.

William is a member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church. He is married to the former Tracy Martin and has two children.
