Sara Elizabeth Lee is going to be speaking at a CLE scheduled for May 20, 2008 in Mobile at the Radisson Admiral Semmes Hotel. The CLE, entitled "The Art of the Settlement," is sponsored by National Business Institute. The topics she will be presenting include: "How to Succeed at Settlement Conferences," "Using Mediation When Settlements Don't Work," and participation in a mock settlement negotiation.

Lyons, Pipes & Cook is pleased to announce that A. Kelly Sessoms, III and Barry W. Andrews have joined the firm as partners. Mr. Sessoms will practice in the firm's Mississippi office and Mr. Andrews will practice in the firm's Mobile office.

Practice Areas: Admiralty/Maritime Law, Environmental Law, Civil Trial Practice, Commercial and Corporate Law, Real Estate, Probate and Estate Planning.

Marion is of counsel for the firm. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Marion has been practicing with LPC since graduating from law school. He regularly practices in the state courts of southern Alabama as well as in the U.S. District Courts of Alabama.

Marion graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. degree in 1971 and then obtained his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama in 1974. His practice focuses on Admiralty and Maritime Law, Commercial and Corporate Law, Real Estate, Probate and Estate Planning and Environmental Law. Admiralty and Maritime Law areas encompass terminal and longshore representation, oil spill and environmental matters, personal injury claims, allisions, collisions, maritime contracts and the handling of maritime liens.

Marion is a member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute and served as its Chairman in 1999, and he is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States. He served as Chairman of the Advisory Board of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2003 and 2004. He has been a member of many civic and community boards, currently serving on the boards of the American Cancer Society, Preschool for the Sensory Impaired, Infirmary Foundation (Vice Chairman), and Bay Area Food Bank.

Marion is an ardent fisherman and hunter and coupled his interest in these outdoor sports with his service on the Boards of Directors of Coastal Conservation Association and the Alabama Wildlife Federation. He served as the Vice Chairman of the State Board and Chairman of the Mobile Chapter of CCA. Marion is married to Jamie Mayhall Quina.
