Robert’s legal practice is synonymous with that of the modern business lawyer, and his personal objective is to provide efficient, results oriented legal service. Robert regularly represents large financial institutions in various creditor’s rights arenas, as well as privately owned companies in a complete breadth of financial dealings. Robert’s corporate practice consists of advising clients on a wide variety of transactions, including entity formation, acquisitions, liquidations, financing and internal governance. Robert regularly works with Personal Representatives and Trustees in the administration of Estates and Trusts, and has both defended clients against and pursued others based upon claims of breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of loyalty, conversion of funds, undue influence and incapacity.
Robert’s real estate practice includes negotiating and drafting purchase agreements, leases, mortgages, security devices, deeds, issuing title opinions and conducting foreclosure proceedings. Robert has represented clients in multi-party cases involving riparian rights, oil and gas, boundary line disputes, zoning/subdivision regulations and complex title issues. Additionally, Robert advises the Planning and Zoning Commissions of several municipalities in Mobile County, and assists developers in navigating the evolving area of land use regulation.
While attending Spring Hill College, Robert clerked for the Honorable John Lockett and was employed at Regions Bank. During his time at Spring Hill College, Robert received a Toolen Award-the equivalent of Valedictorian, the Ralph McClain Essay Award, recognition for his work on the SGA and was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, a Jesuit honor society recognizing individuals committed to serving the community. Robert attended law school at the University of Alabama, and received the Harold A. Brown Jr. Award upon graduation.
When not working, Robert enjoys fishing, bird hunting and golfing. Robert serves on the Board of Directors for the Moorer YMCA in downtown Mobile. Additionally, Robert holds an officer position in the Knights of Columbus, and currently serves as the Advocate for his Council. Robert, his wife Alicia, and their sons, Cain and Cooper, are all Mobile natives and members of St. Pius X Parish.
